Customer Supplied Material Policy
Acceptance of materials
Customer supplied materials will be accepted only after Kurblink’s prior approval in writing and are subject to this Customer Supplied Material Policy.
Packaging
Kurblink will make every effort to package finished parts and materials for return shipping in the manner which they were received or better with considerations given to ensuring they are delivered in satisfactory condition. If specific packaging is required, the details must be specified prior to quote or mutually agreed upon prior to Kurblink accepting the materials.
Remnant materials
When the material provided exceeds the amount necessary to produce the quantity of parts ordered, there will be a remnant of material. This may be a large or small remnant and in good or bad condition depending on perspective. In cases where Kurblink determines a remnant has obvious value to the customer, Kurblink will make every effort to return the remnant or make it available for will call for a reasonable (as determined by Kurblink) period. When Kurblink determines a remnant is small, damaged, or otherwise not in the interest of its customer to include in the return shipment or to store and make available for will call, it may be discarded or put into inventory for use later. If such a remnant would retain value for you as a customer, please indicate that at the time of quote or the transfer of the material so efforts can be made to return all valuable remnant material.
Cost of return
If remnant material is of value to you and you wish for it’s return, the costs associated with its return should be factored into the price of the job quoted. Therefore, it’s important to specify this up front. If you have not requested your material’s return at the time of quote, please be aware the cost of its return may be added to the quoted amount.
Liability
Kurblink accepts no responsibility for repairs or replacement of customer supplied materials in the event of damage or loss, unless caused by negligence as determined by Kurblink. If damaged by a third-party carrier contracted by Kurblink, a claim must be made through the carrier for compensation. Kurblink will file that claim unless unable to do so under the policies of the carrier, in which case Kurblink will assist you in any reasonable way. If Kurblink determines liability for damages or loss are the responsibility of Kurblink, the remedy may include monetary compensation, repair, or replacement at Kurblink's discretion. Methods and sources for repair or replacement will be at Kurblink's discretion. If monetary compensation is the chosen remedy, the amount will be negotiated using values based on available market research. Responsibility for irreplaceable items such as keepsakes and heirlooms are never covered in any way by Kurblink. In most cases, such materials will be unapproved for processing by Kurblink.
The bottom line
Kurblink aims to be a good resource for you and understands there are situations where providing your own material is necessary for the financial viability of the overall project. By the same token, Kurblink can only accept jobs using customer supplied material if there is (a) adequate protection from liability if something goes wrong, (b) not an excessive burden on resources to perform the work weighing the risks and (c) the customer fully understands the risks involved and is willing to bear any consequences that result from the decision to supply their own material.
For clarification on any of this, please feel free to contact Kurblink. Regardless of any verbal or written communication, this will be the governing document for any transaction where customer supplied material is used and the customer supplied material policy has been referenced in quotes, order confirmations, invoices, or any other prior communications.
